Erica Woodcock, Founder of South Sound Swim and Safety

Erica Woodcock is the Founder of South Sound Swim and Safety. She started South Sound Swim and Safety after taking parent and child swim lessons with her own children. Her passion for water safety education and entrepreneurial spirit has helped her to grow from her being the only instructor and working 10 hour days in the pool to having 15 instructors working for South Sound Swim and Safety. Erica has developed a teaching curriculum that meets each swimmer where they are. This curriculum focus on the use of floatation belts and using flippers to develop proper swimming form as each swimmer is ready to. She is a Water Safety Instructor (WSI), Lifeguard Instructor, Lifeguard.

Trina Garbe, Manager of South Sound Swim and Safety

Trina has been the manager at South Sound Swim and Safety since April 2021. She has 27 years teaching experience where she started at the King County Pool on Vashon Island to The Washington Athletic Club and 14 years as the Aquatics Manager at Seattle Children’s Hospital. Water Safety is her top priority from teaching lifeguarding classes to facility management. She knows first hand the healing properties of the water and enjoys sharing that experience with others. Her expertise is teaching water safety skills to kids with special needs and anyone who has a fear of the water. She is a pool operator, Water Safety Instructor, and Lifeguard Instructor.
