Swimming is a life experience. It empowers us to take on new tasks and try new things. Most importantly, it provides us with the skills to be safe in the water and enjoy it.

South Sound Swim and Safety provides swim based programming focusing on helping participants build confidence and strength through conditioning. Learning water safety through swim instruction teaches youth from a young age to respect the water while learning how to have fun safely. As we continue to partner with community organizations we strive to bring drowning prevention education to the south Puget Sound area.

We offer private swim instruction to both children and adults in Auburn and the surrounding area (Maple Valley, Covington and Kent). We are trained and equipped to work with ages 6 months through adults. We offer affordable private and a small program size (with a ratio of 3 children to 1 instructor). Prices start at only $30 per lesson, with a yearly registration fee of $40 for a child or $55 per family.

The pool is located at Black Diamond Camp in Auburn Washington in the Granite Mountain Adventure Building.

Our classes are perpetual September to June each year.
Classes do fill up fast — To register for classes go to the registration portal! We have Summer 2023 classes. Registration for the Summer sessions started on March 15. Summer sessions are June 19-30, July 5-31 and August 1-31. Registration is also open for the 2023-2024 Season. Classes start September 5th 2023.

Relaxing Atmosphere

Our full-size pool is located inside the Black Diamond Camp.  and kept at a temperature of 88 degrees. The pool starts at a depth of 3-4 feet and has a deep end that is 9.5 feet deep.
We have a variety of teaching tools and aids to help each swimmer gain confidence and progress in their swim skills
With a ratio of 3 children to 1 teacher, our pool provides a calm learning environment for swimmers of all ages and abilities.

Individualized Swim Programs

With a maximum of 3 children per instructor, we can give each child our fullest attention and tailor the skills to each child’s unique needs.
